Good Day, Whale Rescuers! Here is your task. Make sure you follow instructions
carefully and read everything before starting to work. Failure to do so may cause the
lives of Snowflake, Ice, and Ice Hole. You have five working days to complete your
task. Work together. Share ideas. Brainstorm. Those whales are counting on you!
GOOD LUCK!

1. Choose a name for your Team.

2. Assign roles for each Team member. The MANAGER is in charge of the brainstorm session.
He/She will make sure that each team member will get a chance to contribute the the rescue
mission. The RECORDER is in charge of writing down the ideas of the group. The INVESTIGATOR
is in charge of carrying out the Team's chosen plan. He/She will be helped by the other team
members. The REPORTER is in charge of sharing the Team's rescue plan with the STFHAN Board
of Directors (members of the class).

3. Before brainstorming, THINK about the problem. List facts about the problem that you know.
Gather additional facts that you may need.

4. Use the facts to BRAINSTORM (an exchange of ideas) for a way to solve the problem. Make a list
of things you will need. Remember, money is no object and your Team may use any machinery,
equipment, etc. that you think of. Also, if needed, your Team may design whatever machinery,
equipment, etc.. If you do this, you have to submit your design to the STFHAN Board of
Directors.

5. Decide on a RESCUE PLAN and have the Recorder write down the steps of your Team's plan. This
will be presented to the STFHAN Board of Directors so the plan has to be very detailed and a
diagram or model of the plan has to be shown. There must also be a section explaining why your
plan will work and why your plan should be chosen.

6. The REPORTER, assisted by the Team members, will present the Rescue plan to the STFHAN
Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is allowed to ask questions which any Team member
may answer. However, a Team member may only answer another question after all the Team
members have answered. Each Board of Director will have a rating sheet.
